Yoga Classes,
Beginning/Gentle
and Intermediate Level |
Taught
by Denise Ellis, RYT, who is registered
with the Yoga Alliance.
Yoga, as taught by Denise, is an integration of the whole person, enhancing
health and wellness at all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual. A timeless science, the word Yoga means "union", and
in the context of modern wellness, her approach is drawing on the ancient, classical
style with a bent on how it fits into our modern world, on and off the mat. A
practical, yet heart -centered style is Denise's hallmark, based on individual
body-mind types or doshas (Ayurvedic Yoga).
Come explore the heart of Yoga with Denise to
reduce stress through physical exercise and relaxation;
enliven your body as well as your spirit through
deep,
complete breathing; balance all aspects of mind and emotion; and experience the
joy of life through inner peace and a connection to spirit. Classes are offered
day and evenings, groups and private sessions. |

What Are Students
Saying?
|
 |
|
 |
"I
feel so fortunate to have experienced the
yoga teaching of Denise Ellis. Her sensitivity
and ability to accept a yoga student wherever
they are regardless of their physical condition
and skill level and to adapt the yoga program
to meet their needs is remarkable. She is
an accomplished teacher, yet patient and
encouraging, always giving so much to her
yoga students whether they are beginners
or advanced.
In addition to yoga, Denise Ellis offers
classes and workshops in several subject
areas. She is proficient in many disciplines
and enjoys sharing her knowledge with her
students. I have enjoyed studying meditation
and yoga nidra in small, intimate classes
where Denise blended a curriculum developing
the students’ skills and an understanding
of the discipline."
- Edieann B. Didham
I
speak from experiencing three years of practicing
yoga with Instructor Denise Ellis. The sessions
are
unique in that the those attending have each
experienced cancer in some form.
Thus, Denise
consistently adjusts to various stages of
healing and emotional recoveries. But most
essentially, Denise demonstrates the ability
to convey her
in-depth knowledge of the history and philosophy
of
Yoga with an obvious passion for her own
practice
and for each one of us in her classes.
From
every
class I have felt growth and a means of finding
peace in mind and body."

Integrative
Yoga Therapy (IYT) is a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern wellness.
IYT combines traditional and current mind-body techniques
tailored to each individual client. A new paradigm
for health and healing, the way we live, think and feel
are seen as interrelated with our own physical health.
Individual sessions combine skills based on the traditional
elements of Yoga: posture, breath, guided imagery,
meditation and deep relaxation. Ayurveda and Thai Yoga
Healing are ancient systems of health which are incorporated
into each session based on individual body-mind types.
Private sessions are offered by appointment.
Ayurveda literally translates
as the "science (veda) of life (ayu) or longevity." The
original healing system of India, Ayurveda is thought
to be 4000-5000 years old. Ayurveda today teaches
health promotion from the perspective of prevention,
incorporating food choices, lifestyle, behaviors,
Yoga asanas, and meditation based on the body-mind
type or dosha.
After an
assessment, your likely dosha, (prakriti) which you are
born with, and the imbalances
you now have, (vikriti) are put into perspective according
to nature-the doshas, manifesting as vata, pitta, or
kapha; following the times of the day, the seasons; the
type or forms of exercise, such as Yoga, sports, etc.;
behaviors and ways to help balance mind and emotion are
suggested. Foods and spices, recipes and other lifestyle
changes are given to enliven the body, mind and spirit.
Denise offers educational classes and consultations
in Ayurveda. She has trained in Ayur-Yoga extensively;
she is certified with New Leaf School of Ayurveda and
is a member of NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association).
Stress
Release Consultations, through the One Brain method of
Three In One Concepts, is an effective process of "letting
go" of old patterns and moving into new, productive
ways of relating to self and others.
Through Three In
One Concepts' innovative defusion of stress, precision
muscle testing is the method used to identify
and correct the stressors that keep us from creating
a productive, fulfilling life. We test emotions,
not muscles.
When we have a problem, we often respond
by diving head-first into DENIAL. Too often we are
not aware that denial is the cause that creates the symptoms
of STRESS. So, at Three In One Concepts, we help
you rebalance physical, mental and emotional power, which
gives you back the power to CHOOSE consciously in
present time, more of the time. Private sessions,
training classes, and specialty workshops are offered.
Denise
has been a Certified Consultant since 1995, practicing
her healing work in the Toledo area.

Yoga
Nidra. One
of the most enjoyable parts of a Yoga class comes when
we rest in savasana - the "corpse pose"- and
realize deep serenity, a sense of effortless joy, and
a glimpse into our true nature as unqualified presence.
How is this so? This experience is a manifestation
of Yoga Nidra, the meditative state of mind-body union
at the heart of all Yoga practice.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient
Tantric Yoga path that leads to inner freedom. It
leads us step-by-step through the traditional techniques
of relaxation and meditation to help us realize our true
nature-the ultimate aim of Yoga-a goal unreachable
through posture practice alone. Through Denise's guidance,
you will experience:
• |
Deep
relaxation from day-to-day stress. |
• |
The
development of "one-pointedness"-a
key to spiritual awakening. |
• |
Healing
from painful emotions, such as fear, grief,
and anger. |
• |
More
effective and energizing sleep, and much more. |
Suitable for beginners and advanced
practitioners-but new to most Westerners-Yoga Nidra provides
an unmatched way to experience the culmination of the
art of Yoga, and the deeper physical, emotional, and
spiritual rewards that are its promise. hic |

Aromatherapy
- How it Works
The sense of smell & inhalation
Smell is the only sense where receptor nerve
endings are in direct contact with the outside
world. When we inhale, the neural impulses go
directly to the limbic system. The limbic system
connects to all other parts of the brain and
in particular to the thalamus and hypothalamus
from where our whole endocrine system is controlled.
Smells can affect memory, emotions, self-expression,
the whole adrenal system, our internal environment
and sexual system. This is why a scent can be
euphoric, aphrodisiac, or stimulate clear thinking.
In addition, inhaling essential oils can have
a direct impact on the health of the respiratory
organs, especially during the cold season.
Topical
application
Essential oils are often used in massage and skin care. There is evidence that
oils applied to the skin enter the bloodstream. Whether the effect will be calming
and cooling, warming and invigorating, toning to the uterus or tonic to the liver
depends upon the chemistry of each oil. The synergy of chemical constituents
that nature provides is a grace and a blessing that the modern science of medicine,
with its emphasis on reproducing single chemicals, has not been able to duplicate.
