Denise’s
style is one that is steeped in the tradition of
classical Yoga and Meditation practices, yet she
is bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and
modern wellness, truly teaching “Enlightened
Yoga.” She has trained with many teachers,
among those Joseph LePage, receiving her certification
with Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT); she has studied
Kali Ray Tri-Yoga; Golden Lotus Yoga at Song of
the Morning Yoga Ranch; anusara yoga with Doug
Keller; vinyasa and healthy backs yoga; Yoga Nidra
with Richard
Miller;
Ayurvedic Yoga with Scott Blossom at IYT and many
other teachers. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher
(RYT) with the Yoga Alliance, a national organization
recognizing yoga teachers who meet certain standards
of teaching in Yoga.
As a healer and wellness consultant,
she integrates a variety of other practices, together
with Yoga,
to help you move forward in your life. To provide
a comprehensive approach to well-being, Denise
combines Ayurveda with Yoga and other modalities
to develop a wellness plan. Ayurveda
is a sister science of Yoga and literally translates
as “science of longevity or knowledge”, and is
the oldest ancient system of natural health. She
has trained extensively in Ayurveda through IYT,
and the New Leaf School of Ayurveda with
Paul Dugliss, M.D., board certified in Internal
Medicine
and in Ayurveda. She
continued her training with Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar,
of the Aloha Ayurveda Academy and the Kauai Center
for Holistic Medicine and continues her education
through her love of Yoga, Ayurveda and the healing
arts. She has training in Aromatherapy from the
Ohio Academy of Holistic Health, and teaches workshops
and classes in Aromatherapy and its healing uses. She
also carries an organic line of essential oils.
Through this Enlightened, Healing path of Yoga, individualized
for each person, a deconditioning takes place in
which boundaries and barriers that keep us separate
are slowly removed. It
is a journey, rather than a goal, to remembering
who you really are. This
healing journey is the essence of Yoga.
Denise offers Yoga classes and private sessions
for every body: Yoga
for Wellness; Ayur-Yoga; healing Yoga, including
cancer patients, cardiac rehab, and arthritis,
fibromyalgia, and stress management. She
has been teaching a class for cancer patients for
over 7 years at the Victory Center, and interned
for IYT at the former MCO Cardiac Rehab. Dept. Corporate
Yoga classes are also offered.
